TarotGo ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information the TarotGo mobile application accesses, how it is used, and how it is safeguarded. TarotGo is designed to be privacy-first: we do not operate user accounts, we do not run analytics servers, and virtually all of your data stays on your device.
1. Information We Collect
Information You Provide
To power features such as astrology, numerology, the Destiny Matrix, Couple Compatibility, and personalized readings, you may choose to enter:
- Your birth date (and optionally the birth date of a partner or another person for compatibility and Couple Destiny Matrix readings)
- Zodiac sign selections and personal preferences
- Question intentions and notes you associate with your readings
This information is stored exclusively on your device (using Apple's secure local storage, such as UserDefaults). It is never transmitted to us or to any third party. TarotGo does not require an account, email, phone number, or name to function.
Camera Access
TarotGo requests access to your device camera for two features:
- Palmistry (Palm Reading): Your palm is analyzed in real time using an on-device machine learning model (MediaPipe HandLandmarker via Apple's Vision framework). Palm images are processed entirely on your device and are never uploaded, stored, or shared. No image is retained after your session ends.
- Augmented Reality (AR) tarot cards: The camera feed is used only to render virtual tarot cards in your physical environment. No frames are recorded or transmitted.
Camera access is optional. If you decline the camera permission, only the palm reading and AR features are unavailable — the rest of the app continues to work normally.
Location Data
TarotGo may request access to your approximate location (city-level precision) solely to power the "Global Vibe Check" feature, which shows tarot cards trending in your area. Location is:
- Only accessed while you are using the app ("When In Use")
- Used locally on your device and not transmitted to our servers
- Requested at low precision (approximately city-level) to preserve battery and privacy
Location access is fully optional. You can revoke it at any time in your device's Settings without affecting other features.
Notifications
If you grant permission, TarotGo delivers local notifications on your device for reminders such as:
- Daily "Card of the Day" reminders at your chosen time
- Mercury retrograde and lunar milestone alerts
All notifications are scheduled and delivered locally by iOS. TarotGo does not use push notifications from a remote server and does not send notifications through any third-party service.
Anonymous Usage and Diagnostic Data
If you have enabled it in your iOS Settings, Apple may share anonymous, aggregated diagnostic information (such as crash logs and performance metrics) with app developers through Apple's own systems. This data does not identify you personally and may include:
- Device type and operating system version
- App crashes and performance metrics
- Anonymous feature usage statistics
TarotGo does not embed any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs (no Firebase, Google Analytics, Crashlytics, Meta, Mixpanel, Amplitude, AppsFlyer, Sentry, etc.).
2. Subscriptions and In-App Purchases
TarotGo offers optional Premium subscriptions (monthly and yearly) that unlock additional features. All purchases are processed exclusively by Apple through the App Store using StoreKit. This means:
- We never see or store your payment details (credit card, Apple ID, billing address, etc.). Apple handles all payment processing.
- TarotGo receives only an anonymous entitlement confirmation from Apple indicating whether your subscription is active. We cannot link this to your identity.
- Subscription management (cancellation, refunds, family sharing) is handled directly through your Apple ID Settings and the App Store.

3. How We Use Your Information
The limited information TarotGo handles is used solely to:
- Provide personalized tarot, astrology, numerology, palmistry, Destiny Matrix, and compatibility readings on your device
- Schedule and deliver the local notifications you have opted into
- Show location-relevant content in the Global Vibe Check (if you grant location access)
- Confirm your subscription status via Apple's StoreKit
- Improve app stability and performance through anonymous, aggregated diagnostics
4. On-Device Processing
TarotGo performs all readings and analyses locally on your device. This includes:
- Tarot card selection, spreads, and interpretations
- Palmistry analysis using an on-device machine learning model
- Astrology, numerology, Destiny Matrix, and Couple Matrix calculations
- Lunar calendar, Mercury retrograde, and horoscope computations
TarotGo does not use cloud servers, external APIs, or generative AI services to produce your readings. Nothing you enter or capture leaves your device as part of these features.
5. Data Storage and Security
All your tarot readings, card of the day history, palm reading results, saved matrices, preferences, and other personal data are stored exclusively on your device using Apple's secure storage mechanisms (UserDefaults and the app's local sandbox). We do not have access to this data, and it is never transmitted to our servers because we do not operate any user-data servers.
6. Sharing and Exports
TarotGo can generate PDF documents of your readings (for example, a palm reading report, compatibility report, or Destiny Matrix result). These PDFs are created on your device. If you choose to share a PDF or reading, you do so through iOS's native Share Sheet — meaning the destination (Messages, Mail, third-party apps, etc.) is your choice and is governed by those apps' own privacy policies. TarotGo itself does not upload or transmit any shared content.
7. Third-Party Services
TarotGo does not integrate with third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. The only third-party platforms involved in the app's operation are:
- Apple: Provides the App Store, StoreKit (subscriptions), Core Location (for the Global Vibe Check), Vision framework (for on-device palm analysis), notification delivery, and requests for App Store ratings.
- Google MediaPipe (HandLandmarker): An open-source machine learning model bundled with the app for on-device hand landmark detection. It runs entirely offline and does not transmit any data.
We do not sell, trade, or transfer your information to outside parties.
8. Children's Privacy
TarotGo is intended for a general audience and does not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because we do not collect personally identifiable information at all, we comply with children's privacy regulations including COPPA (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act) and the GDPR-K provisions where applicable. Some content (astrology and tarot themes) may be more appropriate for older audiences — parents should use their discretion.
9. Your Rights and Choices
Because virtually all of your data is stored locally on your device, you retain complete control over your information:
- You can delete all app data at any time by deleting TarotGo from your device
- You can manage or reset your preferences, birth date, and saved readings from within the app's Settings
- You can grant or revoke Camera, Location, and Notification permissions at any time from your iOS Settings
- You can manage or cancel subscriptions from your Apple ID Settings or the App Store
- No account creation or registration is required to use TarotGo
Users in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, California, and other jurisdictions may have additional rights under laws such as GDPR, UK GDPR, and CCPA. Because we do not collect personal data server-side, most such requests are automatically satisfied — but you may still contact us to exercise any right.
10. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in features, technology, or applicable law. When we do, we will post the updated version on this page and change the "Last updated" date above. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically.
